Social Media for Kids supports Push for Peace

Yesterday I went to Essex Community College in Newark, New Jersey. Mayor Corey Booker and Hot 97 hosted Push for Peace to discuss how to stop the violence in Newark, New Jersey.

I was representing Social Media for Kids. It is an organization that helps students from 6th- 12th grade learns about the Internet  to stop cyber-bullying.

We handed out flyers and information to the public about Social Media for Kids.

There were different positive organizations there, I met one called S.O.S. it is means Saving Our Sisters.  They mentor girls and teach them to be strong and positive.  I also spoke with a representative from  Lincoln Tech prepares people for career in mechanics and electronics. 

Inside the auditorium Lisa Evers & Corey Booker led a celebrity panel that included Nate Jones, football player for Denver Brokers who was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, along with Rashawn Jackson, football player for the North Carolina Panthers, who is from Jersey City, New Jersey.

 They were spoke of  peace and how the people of Newark have to stay positive.
Afterwards, I was in charge of handing out SMFK bags and of course I had to take pictures.
